The Filmmaker
My dad filmed weddings too — back when we lived in Sydney. The Greek community there knew him and loved his work.
He took videos of our birthdays at home too. The video of my second birthday, I have watched more than I can count. I could see my parents young. My grandmother. Aunts, uncles, cousins, my nouna and tata. Moments I would have never seen.
A photo stays still. A video is alive. In the video I could see my parents how they were when they were younger. How they smiled, their voice, their behaviour. My grandmother hasn't aged a day. I miss her.
That's why I do this. To share the feelings of happiness. To share what it feels like seeing another version of our parents, ourselves, our grandparents. Your wedding film isn't just for today. It's for the version of you, twenty years from now. And maybe, one day, for someone who wasn't even born yet.
How I Work
I don't direct your day — I document it. My job is to disappear into the background and come back with something that makes you feel emotions.
I am there to capture your day as it unfolds. Capture real moments as they are happening.
I want to be invisible. There but not there. I want to capture the most genuine moments.
